Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember finally has a street date: March 4, 2027 — and the Alpha Demo is live now through September 30, 2026.
KOEI TECMO America / Team NINJA’s September 15–16 announcement (mirrored on PlayStation Blog by producer Masakazu Hirayama and roundup’d by Gematsu) locks platforms to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox on PC, and Steam, with day-one Xbox Game Pass. The Alpha Demo is not on Switch 2 or Xbox Cloud — it’s on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, Xbox on PC, and Steam only for this limited window.
What the sequel is selling
Per KOEI TECMO / PlayStation Blog: the story picks up in 208 AD after Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, with demons and immortality-elixir fantasy layered onto Three Kingdoms warfare. Combat keeps the offense/defense martial-arts flow and adds Insight Skills for more acrobatic counters, terrain plays, and even aerial finishers. Famous battlefields like Changban and the Red Cliffs open into dynamic fields where morale, base captures, traps, and recruiting enemy officers can swing fights.
The Alpha Demo lets players sample Changban, an in-progress character creation system, and online co-op for up to three. Finish the demo (PlayStation Blog specifically calls out defeating boss Wuzhiqi) for the Fledgling Phoenix Helmet carry-over bonus into the full game, plus a feedback survey.
