Per Blizzard’s official Steam news post for app 2344520, players new to the game can play Diablo IV free on Steam until September 21, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. PT. The free-play window covers the base game, access to all classes, and progression up to level 30. After that clock, the temporary license leaves the library unless you buy the game; progress and Steam achievements stay tied to the account (as covered in same-day Steam free-weekend reporting).

As of this morning’s check, Steam’s Diablo IV store page is still advertising a live ~75% discount on the base game — GameRant’s Sep 16 roundup lists $49.99 → $12.49.
