Dust till Dawn — Junji Ito–Inspired Cozy Horror Clean-’Em-Up; Music by Akira Yamaoka

Mac n Cheese Games world-premiered Dust till Dawn at the PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct on September 20, 2026: a cozy paranormal cleaning game set in a rural Japanese village where mysterious dust keeps returning — with original trailer music by Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka and atmosphere inspired by Junji Ito.

The loop

Per Gematsu and the studio overview, you play a maid taking cleaning jobs across homes, shops, and community spaces. Sweep, wipe, wash, earn Yen, upgrade tools, and unlock new locations. Stay later into the evening for bigger payouts — and a higher chance of encountering something that isn’t right. Dust returns. Objects move. Rooms refuse to stay ordered. Soft: PC Gamer flags the studio’s other horror project Void Martyrs (“nuns in space”) as context only.

Music + vibe

The headline creative hook is Akira Yamaoka composing the original trailer music, paired with manga-influenced art direction that aims to make familiar spaces feel uncanny over time. No combat hordes — the unease is the point.

Platforms + timing

PC via Steam only so far; release date TBA. Wishlist is live. Do not invent consoles or a street day.

Why it matters

After Silent Hill: Townfall already hit the RCG forge stack, Dust till Dawn is the Direct’s strongest fresh horror-adjacent premiere — cozy clean-’em-up mechanics with a Yamaoka needle-drop and Ito-flavored dread.

As-of: 2026-09-20 evening ~5:30 PM CT (America/Chicago). World premiere, PC/Steam-only, date TBA, Junji Ito–inspired framing, and Akira Yamaoka trailer music verified against Gematsu + PC Gamer. No invented street date or consoles.
