Hostile Lands leaves Early Access today. Independent studio Perceiving Light (Langhorne, Pennsylvania) launches version 1.0 of its skill-based top-down bullet-hell roguelite on Steam PC on September 25, 2026, per Games Press. Regular price is $9.99, with a 40% launch discount to $5.99.

Escape — then face the Hostility

Your ship crashes on a far-off planet; the inhabitants take it personally. Fight through bandits and bullet-spewing bosses to reach an escape pod. Every successful escape raises Hostility, so the next run is harder for those left behind. Players pick from 36 characters, each with a unique (sometimes absurd) skill, plus 60+ weapons, biomes, bosses, permanent upgrades, companion pets, and collectible indexes. Local 2-player co-op ships with full controller support and Remote Play Together. A free demo remains available.

Nuclear Throne influence, different ending

The studio openly cites Nuclear Throne as influence — tight rooms, purposeful enemies, crunchy gunplay — but flips the ending: you don’t conquer the world; you get out, and the world remembers. Version 1.0 ends Early Access (which began May 22, 2025) with the complete core experience: full roster, additional bosses, and new endings. No console ports were announced in the launch PR. Store page: Steam.
