Dark Horse Comics’ full January 2027 solicits are out, and two books lead the pack for RCG readers: Stan Sakai‘s Space Usagi: Warrior #1 on January 6 and Jonathan Hickman / Steve Epting‘s Academy One-Shot on January 13, per Bleeding Cool.
Space Usagi: Warrior #1 — Jan 6
Sakai writes and draws the color continuation of the original Space Usagi trilogy. After the unexpected death of his father, young Lord Kiyoshi sets out to secure his reign and collect the hidden Shirohoshi clan treasure, with friend and protector Miyamoto Usagi at his side — until space pirates and shape-shifting aliens turn the mission into a fight for life, death, and honor. A special three-part backup by Shawn Daley strands Usagi on a strange planet where unbreakable crystals hide a dark secret. Cover A by Sakai / Daley. 40 pages / $6.99.
Academy One-Shot (3W3M) — Jan 13
Hickman writes; Epting pencils and covers interiors with letters by Rus Wooton; Cover A by Mike del Mundo. The one-shot collects the original 3W/3M Sunday serial in full for the first time. Stranded on the magical moon of Kaoso after his crew’s death, Tajo Vallar seeks a way home guided by Syg the White Stag, while Academy mages watch from the three schools. 48 pages / $7.99.
