Switch 2 owners waiting to get lost in Hadea have a few more weeks to wait. Hell Is Us has been delayed on Nintendo Switch 2 for the second time, moving from October 8 to Tuesday, October 27, 2026. The game’s first major update for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S is moving to the same day.
Developer Rogue Factor announced the change in a September 25 statement on the game’s official social accounts. “Due to logistical and distribution issues that are out of our control, we have to move the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Hell is Us to October 27,” the team wrote, as quoted by Pocket Tactics.
Not a technical problem, the studio says
Rogue Factor went out of its way to say the port itself isn’t what’s holding things up. The studio says its work is finished and there are no technical issues, calling the Switch 2 version “solid” and “stable” and saying the team is “very happy” with it.
What the studio hasn’t said is what those logistical and distribution issues actually are. Neither Rogue Factor nor publisher Nacon has explained whether the holdup involves physical stock, digital storefronts or something else.
The major update waits too
The delay also hits players who already own the game. Rogue Factor first teased the major update on September 4, the game’s first anniversary, in a Steam post that set it for October 8 on all platforms alongside the Switch 2 launch. That same post thanked “the 1.5 million players” who have picked up the game so far.
Rather than split the rollout, Rogue Factor is holding the update until October 27 so players on every platform get the new content at the same time, Nintendo Life reports. The studio hasn’t detailed what the update adds beyond its trailer.
Second slip for the Switch 2 version
The Switch 2 version was originally due on September 24. In July, Rogue Factor pushed it back two weeks to October 8, saying September was too crowded with big releases.
“We have decided to postpone the release from September 24 to October 8, 2026. Exactly two weeks!”
At the time, the studio said moving to “a less busy period” was best for the team, its partners and players. This time, the reason is logistics rather than a crowded calendar.
Hell Is Us first launched on September 4, 2025 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. It’s a third-person action-adventure set in Hadea, a fictional country torn apart by civil war and a mysterious calamity that has unleashed supernatural creatures. There are no maps, compasses or quest markers, and players fight those creatures with melee weapons and a combat drone. The game won Best Game Design and Best Performance for Elias Toufexis, who voices lead character Rémi, at the Canadian Game Awards in May.
Barring another change, Hell Is Us and its major update both arrive on October 27.
