Santa Monica Studio and PlayStation have set the pre-order date for God of War Laufey: orders open Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. local time, according to the PlayStation Blog. The PS5 game still launches Tuesday, February 16, 2027; Sony did not move the date.
Laufey puts Faye at the center of the next mainline God of War, and Monday’s post is the first full look at what each edition includes. Gematsu notes that both physical and digital pre-orders open on the same day.
Pre-order bonus (any edition): the Last Wish Armor Set, the Phranque Golden Leaves Appearance (a cosmetic), and an in-game resource pack.
Digital Deluxe Edition: the Dark Alchemy Armor Set, Dark Alchemy Blade, Dark Alchemy Bow Scales, Dark Alchemy Catalyst, an in-game resource pack, a digital mini artbook, and the official digital soundtrack. Sony’s post lists those contents but does not give prices in the copy we reviewed, so check your local PlayStation Store listing when orders open.
Serpent Bow: The same post goes deeper on Faye’s new weapon. The Serpent Bow supports both full aiming and hip-fire, lets players stack up to five arrows, and uses swappable Scales that add perks. That makes ranged combat a core part of Faye’s toolkit rather than a side option.
Because pre-orders use local time, US players on the East Coast can buy at 10 a.m. ET, while West Coast players will see the button go live at 10 a.m. PT. PlayStation’s storefront has also been testing new loyalty offers; see our report on the PS Store “Wallet Credits” soft launch for context on what may show up on new-release pages.
What we are not saying: Sony has not detailed any physical Collector’s Edition in these posts, so we are not reporting one, and we are not quoting edition prices that Sony’s announcement does not list. The February 16, 2027 launch is PS5 only in this announcement.
