Pinball was missing a proper rival mode, and Rockalot is fixing that. Bumper Bout, a multiplayer pinball party game where two players share one playfield, has a Steam demo up now ahead of an October 29 launch, according to PC Gamer and the Steam page.
In Bumper Bout, you score points to dump balls onto the other player’s side and try to outlast them. Arenas are packed with hazards, and each character has a Super Ball power move that can swing a match late. The Steam listing promises solo challenges plus local and online multiplayer.
PC Gamer’s Jody Macgregor called the PvP pinball idea “such a good idea I can’t believe I haven’t played it before” after trying the demo, and noted that the full game is also planning arcade and survival-style single-player modes.
Oddball multiplayer toys have been having a moment on Steam. RCG recently covered how Deadlock’s chess hero Solomon pushed the game past Team Fortress 2’s peak. Bumper Bout is aiming at a smaller, louder living-room fight.
The demo is free on Steam now. The full game unlocks October 29.
Rockalot’s own demo launch trailer is the clean embed for this one, and the Steam page backs the October 29 date for Windows. Shared-screen party games live or die on readability, and Bumper Bout’s pitch is that you can understand the fight in seconds even if you have never touched a pinball table. Online play in the full release matters for anyone without a couch opponent. Between the demo and the end of October, Rockalot has a short runway to turn convention-floor laughs into wishlist adds and day-one sessions.
Party-game demos live on word of mouth. If the shared-table chaos clicks in a Discord night or a living room, October 29 becomes an easy wishlist convert. Rockalot is a small studio swinging at a loud idea, and the Steam date gives that swing a deadline.
