God of War Laufey’s Collector Box Doesn’t Include the Game

PlayStation

God of War Laufey’s big collector’s item is here, and it is game-optional by design. Sony opened preorders for the God of War Laufey Collector Box in Europe on October 13, starting with PlayStation España, and the box does not include a copy of the game.

The box includes a light-up resin statue of Faye in action, with her companions Phranque, the cube, and Rue, the ribbons on her sword. It also comes with a 51-card Oracle Deck with bespoke illustrations inspired by Faye’s journey, and a mini art book of concept art curated by the development team. Sony’s description says the statue is “realised in intricate detail” to capture Faye’s “lethal agility in action,” while the cards let fans “channel your own piece of Everywhen magic.”

Price and release date

According to Push Square, the Collector Box is listed at €149.99 on PlayStation Direct’s European storefronts and £129.99 in the U.K. The listing says it ships alongside the other editions on February 16, 2027. The U.S. version had not appeared on PlayStation Direct as of Tuesday morning, and a U.S. price has not been announced.

The no-game approach is not new. Rockstar’s pricey GTA VI collector’s box also skips the game, and plenty of fans who buy digital prefer to grab the statue without paying for a disc they won’t use. Others, especially physical collectors, see it as a box of merch without the main event. With Laufey being a PlayStation 5 exclusive, there is no multiplatform packaging excuse here, and reaction online has been loud.

If you want the full set, you’ll need to buy the game separately. Preorders for the game itself have been open since September 29, so the Collector Box works as a statue-and-extras add-on for fans who already have the game sorted.

Expect the box to roll out to more regions over the coming days as PlayStation Direct listings go live.
