The mountain is coming to consoles. Aggro Crab and Landfall say their co-op climbing game Peak launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 on October 22, with cross-play across every platform, according to the PlayStation Blog and Gematsu.
Peak first launched on Steam on June 16, 2025, after the two studios jammed the prototype together in a Seoul apartment. On console it ships with every biome, item and update the PC version has picked up since launch.
Stick together
You play as lost nature scouts trying to scale a mysterious island mountain before hunger, injuries and the fog end the run. Up to four players can climb together. The PlayStation post stresses a simple rule that shaped both the game and the port: never abandon a friend in need. Cross-play means a PS5 scout can rope up with friends on Xbox, Switch 2 or PC.
Each run moves through four biomes with their own hazards, from tornadoes to poison clouds. You scavenge questionable food, manage stamina-sapping injuries and place ropes and spikes for whoever comes next. The island layout rotates every 24 hours.
Physical Peak
Skybound Games is also putting a PlayStation 5 physical edition in stores for $19.99 / €19.99 / £14.99. Gematsu says the box includes the disc, a passport kit for cosmetics and a buddy code so a friend can redeem a digital copy. Pre-orders are open at retailers such as VGP.
The studios behind Peak come from different coasts of the indie map. Aggro Crab, based in Seattle, made Another Crab’s Treasure and Going Under. Landfall, based in Stockholm, is known for Content Warning, Haste and Totally Accurate Battle Simulator. They became friends at a 2022 developer conference and later locked a small team in a Seoul apartment for a one-month game jam that produced the first version of Peak.
Peak has been one of the year’s stickiest co-op curiosities on PC, the kind of friendship stress-test that fits right next to other multiplayer favorites on awards shortlists RCG has tracked, including the 2026 Golden Joystick Awards nominees. Console players get their shot next week.
