AndroidDispatch Hits 5 Million Players and Comes to iOS and Android Dec. 9 With Four Free Episodes

AdHoc Studio says more than five million players have now played Dispatch, its episodic superhero workplace adventure, and the game is heading to phones on Dec. 9. The studio announced the milestone on Oct. 22, one year after the first episode launched.

The mobile version arrives on iOS, Android and Google Play Games on PC, with the base game rebuilt for touch controls and vertical play. The first four episodes are free, and the full game unlocks for $19.99, though AdHoc says prices will vary by region. It will be sold in every region where the PC and console versions are available except China and Japan.

Owners of the Deluxe Edition also get two new modes for free starting today. Cast and Crew Commentary adds more than 16 hours of commentary across every episode from voice actors including Aaron Paul, Laura Bailey and Travis Willingham, along with the game’s writers, directors and designers. Storyboard Mode lets players run through the whole game as its original storyboard animatics. Players who don’t own the Deluxe Edition can upgrade for $10.99.

The anniversary plans also include a live concert of the game’s music, Dispatch: Night Shift, at Avalon Hollywood in Los Angeles on Dec. 3, with composer Andrew Arcadi performing the score. “A year ago, we had no idea whether anyone would show up for Dispatch,” the team wrote. “Well, over five million of you have so far, so we must have done something right.”
