PC | MacGenshin Impact 7.2 'Hour of Ruin' Launches November 4

Genshin Impact’s journey through Snezhnaya continues next month. Version 7.2, titled “Hour of Ruin,” launches on November 4, developer HoYoverse announced, and it brings a new region, a major Archon Quest and two new playable characters.

All seven nations in one place

The story picks up as the Nails of Retribution awaken across Teyvat. Mysterious pillars of light begin appearing in every nation, setting off what the game calls the Holy Soil phenomenon. In response, the Tsaritsa calls a historic meeting in Snezhnaya, bringing representatives from all seven nations together to stop the coming catastrophe. Players will fight alongside the Archons, Neuvillette and other allies in the new Archon Quest.

According to the update overview shared by Gematsu, finishing the Archon Quest during the event window rewards 560 Primogems and ascension materials for Mitya, while new Secret Tsarist Assignments award a Snezhnaya-themed wind glider.

A city under the snow

Version 7.2 opens a new area in eastern Snezhnaya. Players can ride the railway to Novokitezhgrad, an underground city built inside Kresnik Kristall, Snezhnaya’s prized crystal resource. Further east is Wingspan Peak, a mountain shaped like a giant wing, home to Old Kitezhgrad, the nation’s first city.

New tools include Prime Ice Constructs and two elemental shotguns for clearing contaminated crystal deposits. There are also new Meeting Point quests for Danica and Mitya, plus a huge creature from the ocean depths waiting to be challenged in Novokitezhgrad.

New characters

Mitya joins the roster as a 5-star Electro Catalyst user who turns the party’s Superconduct reactions into Stellar-Conduct reactions and boosts their damage. Valeriy also becomes playable, adding further support for Stellar-Conduct teams.

Genshin Impact is free to play on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, iOS and Android, with more details on the official site. It is one of several live-service games rolling out big content drops this season, alongside Marvel Rivals and its 50-player Thanos fight.
