Xbox Game Pass is coming to T-Mobile’s new T-Mix plans. Starting in November, eligible T-Mix customers in the U.S. can choose Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or Xbox Game Pass Premium as one of their plan perks, according to Xbox Wire and T-Mobile.
Xbox says this is the first time Game Pass has been offered through a U.S. wireless plan. Subscribers who pick it can play on Xbox consoles, PCs, smart TVs and other supported devices.
T-Mix runs on a system of Picks, which customers spend on partner services. T-Mobile and The Verge both report that Game Pass Premium costs 2 Picks and Game Pass Ultimate costs 3 Picks.
How many Picks a customer gets depends on the plan. T-Mix Standard, at $55 a month for one line with AutoPay, includes 1 Pick, which is not enough to cover either Game Pass tier by itself. T-Mix More, at $75 a month, includes 2 Picks and can cover Premium. T-Mix Loaded, at $95 a month, includes 3 Picks and can cover Ultimate. The Verge notes that Loaded offers up to 3 Picks per line for the first three lines on an account.
Customers are not locked in. The Verge reports that Picks can be changed up to four times a year during the change windows T-Mobile sets, so a player could switch into Game Pass for a big release and move to another service later.
For T-Mobile customers who already pay for Game Pass Ultimate on their own, the Loaded plan is the tier that can fold that subscription into the wireless bill by spending its three Picks on Ultimate.
