Xbox Wire’s Chris Schnakenberg reported on September 4, 2026, that Xbox and TCL have announced a new partnership to bring the Xbox app to select TCL Smart TVs. Xbox says the move will reach millions of TCL users across more than 25 countries. The primary post does not name a country list and does not lock specific TCL model lines. On supported sets, players will use Xbox Cloud Gaming through Game Pass. You still need the Xbox app, a supported controller, and cloud playtime — either via Game Pass or hours sold separately.
This is distribution hardware news, not a rewrite of Xbox’s separate November Game Pass cloud monthly hour-cap policy announced the day before. That caps story (Ultimate 15 / Premium 10 / Essential 5 hours) remains a different filing still in draft; do not merge those numbers into this TCL piece, and do not treat the caps policy as part of the TCL partnership.
xbox.com/xbox-on-tvs still lists Fire TV, LG, Samsung, and VIDAA partners and does not yet list TCL — consistent with a coming-months rollout rather than a same-day app. This is also not a reheat of January 2026 CES-era TCL teases. Treat today’s Xbox Wire partnership post as the shipable first-party primary.
Owners who already use Xbox Cloud Gaming on other living-room devices should treat TCL as another coming destination, not a change to their existing Game Pass cloud entitlement math.
