Level-5’s official Professor Layton and the Curious Village Remake site confirms a 2027 multiplatform return for the series’ first adventure after a LEVEL5 VISION 2026 II teaser. Platforms listed first-party are Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Steam, with a 2027 release window — not a locked day. Language support on the same page includes Japanese, US/UK English, Traditional and Simplified Chinese, French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Korean.
Feature upgrades called out on the first-party page: characters reimagined in 3D with more immersive exploration of St. Mystere, plus high-resolution widescreen animations for the remake’s key scenes. Puzzle supervision credit remains with the late Akira Tago, long associated with the series’ riddle design. Story framing is unchanged at the teaser level — Layton and Luke answer a widow’s request and hunt the Golden Apple in the remote village — presented as both a nostalgia revisit and an on-ramp for newcomers.
Gematsu filed the English wrap the same day as the showcase, matching the platform matrix and 2027 window. This is distinct from Professor Layton and the New World of Steam, which already has its own live series site and prior Direct dating; today’s remake page is a separate product line for the original DS debut (Japan February 2007).

What we are not saying: no locked day inside 2027, no claim this replaces New World of Steam, no invented editions or prices, and no Japan-only framing — the first-party language list includes US English and ships PS5 / Steam alongside Switch hardware.
