Game Developer obtained opening-submission detail (via Take-Two materials in its wrap) as the Rockstar North / IWGB employment tribunal continues in Glasgow. The hearing still runs from the September 10 open through about October 16, 2026. Nothing here predicts a verdict.
On the claimants’ side, filings described in the Game Developer wrap allege monitoring of an IWGB-linked Discord from as early as February 2024, including an alleged “mole” channel to Charlie Kinloch, and argue dismissals followed organizing activity after a recognition threshold. Those are allegations in filings, not adjudicated findings. Rockstar’s frame, as carried in the same reporting, points to a Discord space dubbed Room C — described as roughly ~350 people using aliases — and argues confidentiality and trust broke over alleged confidential gameplay talk and disparagement, while also citing three non-union Canada firings in the wider dispute picture. Again: arguments and attributions, not proven facts.
BBC day-one context still matters for scale caveats (courtroom claimant counts can be narrower than wider dismissal tallies). Rockstar continues to say dismissals were for gross misconduct over confidential information, not trade-union membership. The IWGB continues to call the case unlawful retaliation. This desk will not collapse those positions into a single “what happened” voice.
Grand Theft Auto VI timing is unchanged: US PS5 unlock remains Midnight EST, November 19, 2026. No boycott ask is implied here; prior coverage noted the union pointing supporters toward legal support rather than a game boycott. For RCG’s live unlock calendar read, see GTA 6 PS5 Unlocks at Midnight EST Nov 19.
What we are not saying: no verdict prediction; no invented GTA date change; no treatment of the alleged mole or Room C framing as proven fact; and no boycott call.
