Absolute Batman Leads August Comic Charts

Comics

ICv2 posted its August 2026 comic-store POS charts on Sept. 8, and Absolute Batman #23 (DC Comics, $4.99) sits at No. 1 by units and No. 1 by dollars in the public Top 50.

The rankings draw from ComicHub and Comic Shop Assistant point-of-sale data at more than 225 stores worldwide for a four-week month of August 2–29, 2026. ICv2 notes this is a small, non-random sample of more than 3,000 stores selling American comics, so the list may not match every shop—but it is a widely cited industry snapshot of what consumers bought at participating retailers.

Absolute Universe books dominate the upper ranks: Absolute Green Arrow #4, Absolute Superman #22, Absolute Catwoman #3, and Absolute Wonder Woman #23 all land inside the Top 10 by units, alongside coreline Batman #12 at No. 2. Marvel’s strongest new entry in that Top 10 is Miles Morales: Spider-Man #1 at No. 5 by units; the Queen in Black #1 Blind Bag ($14.99) jumps to No. 2 by dollars even though it sits lower on the units list.

Image’s Transformers #35 and Invincible Universe Battle Beast #12 appear mid-chart; Terminal #1 (Mature) sits at No. 49 by units in the public Top 50. Our comics watchlist names were quiet in this afternoon window—no pad with empty creator slots.

What we are not saying: these are not Diamond distributor shipment ranks, not Circana BookScan bookstore ranks, and not a claim that Absolute Batman outsold every comic in every U.S. store—only that it led this ICv2 POS sample for August in both units and dollars.
