Independent studio RibCage Games has locked a street date for Alpha Nomos, its debut commercial rhythm-action roguelite: October 12, 2026 on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, according to a Games Press release and Gematsu’s September 24 write-up. A free Steam demo is playable now (app 2529960).
Beat-synced combat
Every attack, dodge, and ability locks to the soundtrack. Landing hits on rhythm makes them hit harder; drifting off tempo lets rooms punish you. Protagonist Cello swings instruments as weapons — each strike built from live studio recordings rather than sample libraries — while audio powerups such as Reverb, Flanger, and Delay (plus four more in the full release) reshape both her moveset and the mix. The original score comes from Totem Warriors, recorded live to sit inside the rhythm systems, and a timing offset aims to keep the game accessible across skill levels.
Puppetcore runs
Roguelite loops push through advancing arenas of corrupted puppets across ruined cities and a corrupted circus — the visual language RibCage calls puppetcore. Fall, keep upgrades that carry between runs, and push a little farther next time. CTO Emil Lager framed the date lock as the moment players finally “hold the whole thing” after trusting that rhythm could carry an entire game.
Switch ports and pricing are not part of the multiplat announce.
