DrinkBox Studios has pushed Metroidvania action RPG Blighted out of its planned fall 2026 window and into 2027, citing the need for more polish and tuning before launch. The game remains planned for Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam.
Delay reason
In a developer blog quoted by Gematsu and Nintendo Everything, DrinkBox’s Josh Davis said the team has been working hard and growing, but still needs more time to polish and tune before launch. DrinkBox promises more news in 2027, plus one more cool developer update before 2026 wraps, with Nintendo Everything noting another update fans will want later this winter.
Watcher’s Peak tease
Alongside the delay, DrinkBox teased new looks at level design, including the Watcher’s Peak hub. Exact 2027 month/quarter is TBA — do not invent a quarter.
As-of: 2026-09-21 evening ~5:25 PM CT (America/Chicago). Fall→2027 delay, Switch 2 + Steam, Josh Davis polish quote, Watcher’s Peak hub tease, and winter/year-end update framing verified against Gematsu (Sep 21) and Nintendo Everything. No invented 2027 quarter.
