Resident Evil and Disney’s Avengers: Endgame Encore still owned the midweek theatrical chart for game and Marvel IP. Per Deadline’s Oct. 2 morning update, Sony’s Capcom adaptation took roughly $32.1 million in its second week (−60%) for about $112.3 million domestic through week 2, while the Endgame reissue posted about $31.8 million in reissue week 1 and lifted lifetime domestic to roughly $890.1 million.
Those Deadline lines are weeklies, not final weekend actuals. Resident Evil played 3,684 theaters; Endgame Encore played 3,060. RCG’s prior Monday chart had Endgame Encore winning the Sept. 25–27 weekend at $26.1 million with Resident Evil close behind past $103 million domestic — see Avengers: Endgame Encore Tops the Box Office With $26.1M as Resident Evil Passes $103M.
Looking ahead, BoxOfficeReport’s Oct. 2–4 weekend prediction pegs Resident Evil around $11.8 million (about −49% from last weekend’s hold) for a projected domestic total near $124 million. The same forecast has Endgame Encore dropping sharply into the mid-single millions as the fan-rush reissue loses premium screens, including IMAX footprints that powered the first encore frame.
For Capcom fans tracking the theatrical adaptation from Sony, Constantin Film, and PlayStation Productions, the week-2 hold keeps the film ahead of every prior Resident Evil movie’s full domestic run while the Marvel encore keeps Endgame’s lifetime tally climbing toward the all-time domestic leaders.
Separately, Amazon MGM’s Verity posted $4.5 million in overall previews with a $30 million-plus weekend outlook, and Warner Bros.’ Digger managed $1.2 million in previews — context only beside the game and comic IP holds.
Deadline’s week-to-date top five also listed Heart of the Beast (~$27.3 million week 1), Primetime (~$25.1 million week 1), and Forgotten Island (~$16.4 million week 1). Friday–Sunday studio estimates and Monday chart locks remain the next hard numbers; the figures above stay labeled as Deadline weeklies and BoxOfficeReport predictions until those land.
