Remedy Entertainment’s paranatural sequel Control Resonant is heading to PlayStation 5 on September 24, 2026, and PlayStation Blog has posted a full-game hands-on ahead of street date.
Writer Corey Brotherson frames Resonant as leaving the confines of the Oldest House for a warped, broken Manhattan — starring Dylan, Jesse’s younger brother, an incarcerated man with paranatural abilities searching for his sister. The piece stresses a surreal, horror-tinged tone carried over from Control, with optional dialogue choices and mini-quests that let Dylan recreate childhood memories (including a memorable “feline picnic” reconstruction).
Combat and traversal (PS Blog hands-on)
Dylan’s kit is described as more melee-slanted than Jesse’s, built around a shapeshifting Aberrant weapon with first/secondary forms, status effects (burn/infect), and Combat Abilities (shield, projectiles, junk-forged ally) that consume Power regained via melee. A default of six first/secondary Aberrant options feeds dozens of loadout combos, managed from the limbo-like Gap hub. Traversal includes elevate, air dash, afterimage dash, and unlockable tools such as a Reach grappling hook via “Jesse Quests.”
PS Blog also highlights digestible sandbox zones (not a full open world), mission prioritization (main story vs searching for Jesse vs side stories), DualSense speaker radio chatter from handler Zoe, and unsettling Resonant boss encounters — including a giant porcelain doll’s face that uses taxis and girders as weapons.
Soft calendar note
Separately on the RCG calendar window, Critical Role’s Altered World event is slated around September 22 — noted here only as nearby calendar context; this package is the PS Blog hands-on / Sep 24 PS5 street beat, not a rehash of that Daggerheart×Control angle.
As-of: 2026-09-19 morning ~8:25 AM CT (America/Chicago). Sep 24 PS5 date, Dylan/Manhattan/Aberrant/Resonant hands-on details verified against PlayStation Blog (Sep 18). No invented MSRP or multiplat claims.
