Ram V is going back to Jack Kirby’s Fourth World. DC has announced DC All In Saga: The New Gods #1, a 48-page one-shot that Ram V co-writes with Alex Paknadel, with art by Catalan cartoonist Joan Urgell. ComicBook.com reports it hits shelves on January 13, 2027.
The book follows Ram V’s 12-issue The New Gods series from 2024. That run destroyed New Genesis and sent the New Gods to live on Earth. Izaya gave up the role of Highfather, and Mister Miracle took it on. The one-shot picks up after all that. According to ComicBook.com, the New Gods are still settling into life on Earth when Fourth World technology starts showing up on the black market, and Darkseid’s threat looms over DC’s All In Saga.
Ram V wants to set up more New Gods stories
“I’ve been itching to get back to The New Gods,” Ram V said in the announcement quoted by ComicBook.com. “With this one-shot, it was an opportunity to dive back in, check in on where we left them and what they’ve been up to, and perhaps set up a few things for exciting new New Gods stories to come. As the All In Saga brings the greater story of the DC Universe to a pivotal point, the New Gods must make an important decision about their future, one that will define not only their destinies, but those of the humans and superhumans they’ve come to call friends.”
Paknadel, who wrote DC vs. Vampires: All-Out War, has worked with Ram V before. He wrote the Batgirl backup stories in Ram V’s “Gotham Nocturne” run.
Covers
Nimit Malavia draws the main cover. Variant covers come from Dustin Nguyen, whose cover is also offered in foil, along with Jason Shawn Alexander, KyuYong Eom and Javier Fernandez. The art ComicBook.com showed for Fernandez’s cover is marked as not final. DC hasn’t announced a price yet.
Mister Miracle is also coming to animation. RCG covered the casting of Josh Hutcherson and Mackenzie Davis as Mister Miracle and Big Barda in DC’s animated series, which is a separate project from this comic.
