Blizzard is apologizing for the rough launch of Diablo IV‘s Season of Hell’s Legacy (Season 15) with an in-game gift. Players are finding a thank-you note in the Horadric Post mailbox, and Eurogamer reports that it comes with a Resplendent Spark, one of the rarest crafting materials in the game.
The note reads: “We’re sorry for any unexpected issues you may have experienced… Thank you for standing with us. Please accept this token of appreciation.” Resplendent Sparks are used to craft Mythic Uniques, Diablo IV’s top tier of gear, so even a single Spark matters to players chasing endgame builds.
Why Blizzard is apologizing: Season of Hell’s Legacy launched about two weeks ago to a wave of login and server errors that delayed the start by hours for many players. We covered that launch as it happened: Diablo IV Season 15 Hell’s Legacy delayed mid-launch after login error flood. For what the season itself adds, see our preview, Diablo IV Season of Hell’s Legacy starts Sep 15.
Who gets it: This part is less clear. Eurogamer, citing player reports via Icy Veins, says not everyone appears to have received the Spark. Some players got the note but no item, or at least did not see one. Reddit threads speculate that Blizzard targeted players who were directly affected by launch problems, such as those whose seasonal-track Spark claims failed. Blizzard has not published an eligibility list. If your mailbox is empty, you are not necessarily missing a bug fix.
The gift is described as a single Spark. We are not aware of any larger bundles. Check the Horadric Post tab in-game on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, or Switch 2 to see whether your account received one.
What we are not saying: we are not claiming every player gets a Spark, we are not reporting a quantity beyond the single Spark Eurogamer describes, and we are not reporting eligibility rules Blizzard has not published.
