Dynamite Entertainment has announced MonsterVision, a new comic series starring drive-in horror hosts Joe Bob Briggs and Darcy the Mail Girl, launching in December 2026. The series is a B-movie monster-hunting comedy packed with Easter eggs and a twist on Joe Bob and Darcy’s classic dynamic, according to First Comics News and ComingSoon.
Creatives and covers
Writer David Avallone (Elvira: Mistress of the Dark) teams with artist Edu Menna (Alice Cooper, KISS, Vampirella credits). Cover talent includes Dave Acosta on the lead cover, plus Kewber Baal and Robert Hack with horror-poster homage variants. Darcy also appears on photo covers; Dynamite is offering a special Acosta cover with dual signatures from Joe Bob and Darcy, plus a mystery blind-bag of rare exclusives.
Avallone frames Joe Bob as “square-jawed, handsome and tall” Western energy channeled into something subversive. Darcy called working with Dynamite “incredibly special,” noting she’s been a fan of the publisher for decades.
Drive-in context
Joe Bob’s résumé spans Joe Bob’s Drive-In Theater, TNT’s MonsterVision (1996–2000), and The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs on Shudder/AMC — the comic leans into that host mythology without requiring TV homework.
Dynamite urges readers to preorder through local comic shops and add the title to pull lists. Exact #1 on-sale day is not stated in the First Comics News / ComingSoon writeups checked for this package — keep the street at December 2026 month-level until Dynamite/Diamond locks a day.
