NintendoFrostpunk Comes to Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 on October 19

11 bit studios will release the original Frostpunk on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on October 19, 2026. A demo and pre-orders are available now, Gematsu reports, quoting an overview from the developer.

Frostpunk is the society-survival city builder that puts players in charge of New London, the last city on Earth, through harsh moral choices about laws, resources, and how far a leader will go to keep the generator running. On Switch and Switch 2, the game ships in two versions: a Base Game and a Complete Edition. Per the 11 bit overview Gematsu carries, the Complete Edition includes three downloadable content packs — The Rifts, The Last Autumn, and On The Edge — and both SKUs land with stated launch discounts of 30 percent on the Base Game and 35 percent on the Complete Edition. No list prices appear in that overview quote.

From PC breakthrough to Nintendo handhelds

Frostpunk first launched on PC on April 24, 2018, then arrived on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 11, 2019, and on iOS and Android on October 29, 2024, according to Gematsu’s report. The October 19 Switch and Switch 2 street date is the latest platform push for the original game, not a remake announce.

11 bit also notes that Frostpunk will later be revisited in Frostpunk 1886, described as a definitive version of the original with substantial new content. No release date for 1886 was attached to Monday’s Switch date lock.

Players who want a preview ahead of launch can download the demo now and pre-order either Switch version ahead of October 19.
