K/DA Returns With Firestarter, Its First Song Since 2020

PC | Mac

K/DA is back. Riot Games’ League of Legends virtual pop group returned Sunday night with “Firestarter,” its first new song in six years, and the official music video is live now on the League of Legends YouTube channel.

Who is on the track

MIYEON and SOYEON of i-dle are back as two of K/DA’s voices, and they are joined by two new singers, Sophie Powers and Mimi Webb. According to IGN, the song was produced by Kill Dave and Sebastien Najand, who has worked on K/DA’s music since the group started. Seraphine, who joined the group for 2020’s “More,” does not appear in the new release.

The video is animated by Fortiche, the French studio behind Arcane, which has been making K/DA videos since the original “Pop/Stars” in 2018. Expect a lot of fire, a pink and orange palette, and nods to the champions’ in-game abilities worked into the choreography.

An early drop and a new EP

Firestarter was originally set for Tuesday, October 20, but arrived a day early after the comeback leaked, IGN reports. Riot posted the video at 9 p.m. CT on Sunday, October 18. The single leads a new K/DA EP that is scheduled for Wednesday, October 21.

K/DA’s last big release was the 2020 EP All Out, which included “More” and “The Baddest.” Since then, Riot’s other virtual acts, like Heartsteel, have taken the spotlight, so this return has been a long time coming for fans who have been asking for more K/DA ever since.

Why it matters for League

K/DA has always been part music project and part marketing for League of Legends skins and events, and the group’s songs have racked up huge view counts on YouTube. A new EP in the middle of the Worlds 2026 season gives Riot another way to pull lapsed players back to the game, even as it winds down older projects like League of Legends Classic, which ends in January.

If you want to hear the rest, the full EP lands on Wednesday. For now, Firestarter is streaming wherever you listen to music.
