Lost Fantasy #13 from Image Comics quietly adds a surprise backup that solicits never fully telegraphed: Bombshell: Year One: Trouble In Tokyo, drawn by Giada Belviso (Wolverine, Godzilla), Bleeding Cool reports. The issue goes to Final Order Cutoff the weekend before New York Comic Con, and the main Showdown Lost Fantasy × Fireborn crossover still streets October 28, 2026 at $4.99.
Surprise Year One backup
Writers Curt Pires and Timmy Heague launch the three-part Bombshell origin arc in #13, with Belviso on art. Bleeding Cool notes the backup is mentioned in solicits for #14 (November 25) and #15 (December 23) but was omitted from #13 solicits, making the Belviso credit easy to miss. A new Katt Blanchette Bombshell variant cover has also been added to #13. The arc teases Sydney Stevens / Bombshell’s origins, supporting cast, and a bigger role in the Lost Fantasyverse — Bleeding Cool frames it as setup for another spin-off in the vein of Fireborn.
Showdown still Oct 28
The lead story remains Showdown: Lost Fantasy vs Fireborn, with Pires / Heague / Luca Casalanguida. Companion issue Fireborn #5 streets the same day as the other half of the crossover. Shops watching FOC for NYCC-week orders should note the Bombshell backup and Blanchette variant before the cutoff window closes.
