Mad Cave Dates Escape From North Pole Dec. 23

Comics

Mad Cave has announced Escape From New York: Escape From the North Pole, a Snake Plissken one-shot written by Fred Kennedy with art by Danilo Beyruth and letters by Jeff Eckleberry, according to Comics Beat (September 30, 2026). The book streets Wednesday, December 23, 2026 at 40 pages / $6.99, with covers by Adam Gorham and Ken Lashley.

Synopsis: Snake is dragged to Camp Vincent (Ellesmere Island Containment Facility) after a smuggling bust and given a choice by the Canadian Shield — rescue Soviet geneticist Dr. Svetlana Lysenko from a Siberian bioweapons site overrun by mutated experiments, or stay on Ellesmere permanently. Kennedy pitches non-stop pace; Beyruth highlights high-octane action energy.

License context: Mad Cave’s first Snake title, Escape From Chicago, has #1 available now with #2 (of 4) due October 28. North Pole is a separate Arctic one-shot under the same Escape From New York license, not a Chicago arc chapter.

For Direct Market buyers, December 23 is a holiday-week pulp one-shot with a clear FOC hook beside other Dec. 23 comics already on RCG — including Image Dates Vampire on Aisle 6 for Dec. 23. Different publishers and tones; same street day for shop pull lists.

Shops pulling Escape From Chicago #2 on October 28 can pencil the December 23 North Pole one-shot as the Arctic side story for the same license, with Kennedy/Beyruth as the creative hook and Gorham/Lashley covers for the rack. Forty pages at $6.99 is a standard premium one-shot price point for licensed pulp. Keep Chicago’s four-issue arc and North Pole’s standalone mission on separate FOC lines so retailers do not mis-solicit the Arctic book as Chicago #5.

What we are not saying: we are not inventing Chicago #3/#4 dates beyond the #2 Oct. 28 note, crossover ties to the movie beyond the licensed character, or prices other than the $6.99 figure Beat reported. Report the Dec. 23 one-shot as announced.
