Marvel Plans Crisis of Faith, Spider-Punk and Noir for 2027

Comics

Spider-Man’s 2027 is shaping up to be crowded. Marvel’s Spider-Web panel at New York Comic Con on Saturday revealed a new crossover, a Spider-Punk ongoing, a Spider-Man Noir series and a Spider-Man anthology with some big-name writers.

Crisis of Faith

The headliner is Crisis of Faith, a crossover between The Amazing Spider-Man and Miles Morales: Spider-Man that starts in April 2027. Joe Kelly and Bryan Edward Hill are writing it, and Ryan Stegman drew the promo art, according to The Beat. Editor Nick Lowe described the story as “no holds barred,” AIPT reports, and it pits Peter Parker against Miles Morales over the choices Peter has made since his fight with Hellgate.

Spider-Punk

Hobie Brown is getting a new ongoing series in January 2027 from Cody Ziglar and Justin Mason, with a cover by Taurin Clarke. Hobie heads to Los Angeles to track down the missing Spider-Band, and he runs into a new villain, Mz. Negative, who is working with the Scorpion.

Spider-Man Noir

Alex Segura and Farid Karami are behind a five-issue Spider-Man Noir series that starts in February 2027, with a cover by Stephen Mooney. The story introduces a new femme fatale, and the panel teased a Noir version of Venom.

Marvel SFX: Thwip!

Marvel also announced Thwip!, a five-issue Spider-Man anthology starting in January 2027. The first issue features stories by Jed MacKay, horror author Stephen Graham Jones and novelist Rainbow Rowell, with art by Lucas Werneck and Alessandro Cappuccio. Erik Larsen is lined up for a later issue, according to AIPT.

Also coming in January

  • Venom #4 by Charles Soule and Tommaso Bianchi has Venom dating Yelena Belova, which involves both Eddie Brock and the symbiote.
  • The Amazing Spider-Man #1007 and #1008 bring back the Rhino.
  • The Spectacular Spider-Man #8 brings back the Red Skull.

Crisis of Faith ties together the two main Spider-books, and Hill already knows Miles’ world well. RCG covered his run when Miles Morales: Spider-Man #2 came out in September.

Between a crossover, two new series and an anthology, it is one of the busiest Spider-Man lineups Marvel has announced in a while, and most of it lands in the first four months of next year.
