Moadra Sci-Fi Metroidvania Launches Oct. 22

PC | Mac

Alien-inspired science-fiction Metroidvania Moadra launches Thursday, October 22, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, developer Gloomsoft announced, according to Gematsu (October 1, 2026).

Studio overview: explore the forgotten planet Protea VI — desolate surface, freezing summits, and a research facility infested with hostile organisms — while seeking redemption and confronting a buried “sin” after ancestors’ extinction 20,000 years ago. Movement fantasy leans on roll, dodge, leap, wall jump, and high-speed sprint; a scanner bot with X-ray vision reveals hidden paths; defeating creatures yields Protoplasm consumed in organic chambers to metamorphose abilities and weapons.

For US indie multiplat shoppers, October 22 is a clean four-platform date lock without a staggered console wait. Gematsu’s day-of write-up does not lock MSRP — check Steam and console stores closer to launch for price and any day-one discounts.

The street sits two weeks after another October console indie/action add already on RCG’s calendar: DRG: Survivor Hits PS5 and Switch Oct. 7. Moadra is a different fantasy (solo sci-fi Metroidvania vs auto-shooter) but the same mid-October multiplat shopping window.

Wishlist Moadra on Steam or console stores now if you want the Oct. 22 multiplat notify, and budget for a standard indie premium price once storefronts post it — Gloomsoft’s Gematsu-reported announce locked the day and platforms, not MSRP. The Protoplasm metamorphosis loop and scanner-bot X-ray reads as classic Metroidvania progression with a grim sci-fi coat, aimed at players who want solo exploration rather than live-service hooks. Four-platform day-and-date is the US-facing win versus staggered indie ports.

What we are not saying: we are not inventing a price, Game Pass day-one claim, or story spoilers beyond Gloomsoft’s published overview. Report October 22, 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series, Switch, and Steam.
