Square Enix says Octopath Traveler and Octopath Traveler II are now available on Nintendo Switch 2, according to a Games Press release dated October 1, 2026. Both HD-2D RPGs ship as individual titles with improved resolution and frame rates optimized for Nintendo’s latest hardware.
Since the series debuted on Nintendo Switch in 2018, Square Enix says Octopath Traveler and Octopath Traveler II have shipped and sold more than 7 million copies worldwide. The publisher frames the pair around their distinctive HD-2D look, turn-based combat, and eight-traveler story structure — Orsterra in the original, Solistia in the 2023 sequel.
The Switch 2 versions join the games’ existing catalog on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. Square Enix did not publish exact resolution or frame-rate targets in the launch note — only that both are improved and optimized for Switch 2.
Separately, both titles make their GOG storefront debut on October 8, 2026. From 12 a.m. PT on October 8 through midnight on October 18, Square Enix says both will be offered at a discounted price; the release does not name the discount percentage. A Switch 2 launch trailer is up on Square Enix’s YouTube channel.
