OSRS Sets Hardcore Worlds for November 4

Old School RuneScape’s next stretch of permanent content is now on the calendar after RuneFest 2026. In a PCGamesN interview with Creative Director Kieren Charles, Jagex dated the Fractured Archive raid for Tuesday, October 20, 2026, OSRS Hardcore worlds for Wednesday, November 4, 2026, and the long-closed desert city of Menaphos for spring 2027.

Fractured Archive is pitched as the fourth endgame raid and “the hardest raid we’ve ever released,” with new best-in-slot rewards and an expected race to world first. Hardcore follows two weeks later on dedicated worlds with a separate bank and economy and a strict one-life rule. Charles notes fallen characters can still be moved into the core game — a more traditional permadeath branch than existing Ironman modes, not a total account wipe.

November is also labeled Quest Month, with more quests in one month than OSRS has shipped before, aimed at mid-progression flavor rather than only cinematic finales. Looking further out, The Chosen Commander wraps the Cave Goblin / Zanik storyline early next year, while Dungeons of Gielinor stacks new and revisited dungeons with what Charles calls the most bosses added in a single update.

Further out, Jagex is pitching Menaphos for a spring 2027 target — Fool’s Gold master quest, a multi-skill dungeon, and the rumored True Soul Altar — but official RuneFest summit materials frame several of those desert beats as poll questions, not locked greenlights. Later ideas in the same briefing include Mining and Smithing Reforged (still survey-first), Fairytale III, and a teased new best-in-slot magic cape that has not been formally named or dated.

For US PC desks that already cover Jagex’s multi-game weekend — including RCG’s prior Dragonwilds 1.0 launch coverage — this is the Old School-specific dated list: Oct. 20 raid and Nov. 4 Hardcore as firm dates, with Menaphos spring 2027 still poll-gated. It is separate from modern RuneScape’s December Reignited launch and from the multi-year Unreal RS4 announce.

Players watching the near-term calendar have two firm stakes: Fractured Archive on October 20 and Hardcore worlds on November 4. Everything past that — Menaphos details, skill reforges, and cape teases — should be read as roadmap direction until Jagex locks dates or poll results.
