Cyberpunk Shop Sim Probably Stolen Sells 500,000 Copies in Two Days and Breaks Into Steam’s Top 12

Selling stolen goods is good business. Probably Stolen – Cyberpunk Shopkeeper Sim has sold 500,000 copies in its first two days on Steam, developer Questing Goose Studio announced on Oct. 30.

“Probably Stolen continues to grow and we are now sitting at half a million units sold,” the team wrote. The game, published by tinyBuild, launched on PC on Oct. 28 and holds a 96% “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating from nearly 3,000 Steam user reviews.

The studio has been posting a running tally since launch day. It said the game sold 200,000 copies in its first few hours with more than 86,000 people playing at once, then passed 350,000 sales in its first 24 hours with a concurrent peak above 112,000. Probably Stolen also climbed to 12th place on Steam’s global most-played chart.

Questing Goose joked about where that left it, sitting just below “the biggest Cyberpunk game in history” and asking whether the two should collaborate, Twisted Voxel reports. The developer credited its community for shaping the 1.0 release through feedback and surveys from the demo and playtests, and asked players to keep reporting bugs.

Probably Stolen is a shop management RPG set in the lower levels of a dystopian space station. Players run a store that trades in technology and smuggles goods of questionable origin, trying to earn enough to buy the shop outright before rising rent forces them out. Crafting and trading are part of the loop, and the game has had Steam Workshop mod support since day one.

The team has been patching quickly. A “Modding Security Update” released Oct. 31 changes how mods work to improve security, and warns that some mods may need to be updated by their authors.

It is another strong launch for tinyBuild, which published Graveyard Keeper 2 in September. Probably Stolen is out now on PC through Steam.
