PlayStation ran two back-to-back broadcasts on Thursday, September 3, 2026, starting at 8:00 a.m. America/Chicago. The English State of Play came first; State of Play Japan followed. Sony’s own wrap called it “two shows, over 30 games.” This roundup covers the English show and titles that landed on the English PlayStation Blog recap with a clear U.S. audience hook. It is not a Japan-only recap, and it is not a second copy of the earlier schedule teaser.
The schedule for those twin broadcasts was already covered on our State of Play and State of Play Japan schedule report. What changed on September 3 is the announcements themselves.
PlayStation Blog’s full English announcements recap is the primary rundown. Square Enix closed the English show with an extended look at Final Fantasy VII Revelation and locked a multiplatform date: April 8, 2027, on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, and Xbox on PC). Revelation is multiplatform — not limited to PS5. PlayStation Store pre-orders are live. Square Enix North America says physical and digital pre-orders are available now, with Switch 2 digital pre-orders coming later. A Story Expansion Pass covers two story DLCs — DLC 1 centered on Sephiroth and DLC 2 on Vincent and the Turks — planned for Winter 2027 through Spring 2028, also sold individually, with dates and content subject to change. Other hard dates from the English Blog package: Until Dawn 2 launches January 28, 2027, on PS5 from Firesprite with AdHoc Studio on the story side, moving from Blackwood Sanitorium to Akishima Island; pre-orders open September 10. Use the first-party January 28 date, not conflicting third-party day counts. Fate/Extra Record also lands January 28, 2027, on PS5 and PS4. Metro 2039 is February 4, 2027, on PS5 in the U.S., with February 5 in Asia and ANZ territories, plus the first PS5 Pro gameplay look including ray tracing in a 60fps Performance Mode. Gundam Rogue Orbit is March 5, 2027.
Nearer-term: Marvel’s Wolverine got a launch trailer ahead of its global PS5 street date of September 15, 2026. Crimson Desert: Charting the Unknown hits PlayStation Store on October 15. Ghost of Yōtei’s Complete Edition is October 1, with patch 2.0 on October 1 globally and October 2 in some territories. Jin Sakai is playable in the new Most Wanted combat survival mode with four stances — not a cameo. The upgrade is $14.99, digital Complete is $69.99, and physical Complete is also October 1. Final Fantasy Resonance is October 22, 2026, with a Sephiroth challenge, a chapter-one demo available the day of the show, save carryover into the full game, and pre-orders live. Hunter’s Moon is October 25 in North America and October 26 in the UK, Europe, Asia, and ANZ — do not list October 26 as the U.S. date. Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World is December 3, 2026, on PS5.
Hardware and oddities: Limited Edition Grand Theft Auto VI DualSense controllers in black and white street November 19 with pre-orders on September 10 at 7 a.m. PT / 10 a.m. ET on direct.playstation.com, RRP $84.99, matching Grand Theft Auto VI’s PS5 launch on November 19. The LEGO original PlayStation set is 1,911 pieces at $179.99 — PlayStation Direct and LEGO Insiders on October 1, LEGO.com and LEGO Stores on October 4. Double Fine’s Keeper launched on PS5 the same day as the show, September 3. Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil film opened the English broadcast and is in cinemas September 18; that is a show note, not a movie-desk story. Maneater 2 is dated only as later in 2027, with no month or day.
