Tesla Cybercab Will Support Controllers and Plug-In

Tesla Cybercab will support game controllers — and you can plug in a PlayStation or Xbox

Tesla’s Cybercab is being sold as more than a driverless two-seater. Elon Musk says riders will be able to play games with controllers and plug their own PlayStation or Xbox into the cabin.

Musk first confirmed controller support on Sept. 4 with a short post: “Gaming in Cybercab.” Hours later he clarified the bigger piece: passengers can plug in a PlayStation or Xbox and use their own hardware and accounts, not just Tesla’s built-in apps.

The games run on the car’s 22-inch center screen. Tesla already lists theater, music, and gaming apps as part of the cabin, and Musk has described Cybercab as “a super comfortable lounge on wheels with a great TV and epic sound.” With no steering wheel or pedals, the pitch is simple: the car drives, the passengers watch, listen, or play.

Public Cybercab rides are already live in Austin through the Robotaxi app. What’s still missing are the practical details — ports, power, compatible hardware, sound routing, and whether full console play is allowed while the vehicle is moving. Until Tesla publishes those specs, the confirmed part is just this: controllers are in, and plugging in a PlayStation or Xbox is on the plan.
