Call of Duty: Warzone is getting a long-requested cosmetic control. With Modern Warfare 4 Season 1, players will be able to switch on a filter that hides operator skins from other Call of Duty games, according to the official Call of Duty blog as quoted by Eurogamer.
How it works: When the setting is on, you see only Modern Warfare 4 operator skins in lobbies and matches. The key detail is that it only affects the player who turns it on. Other players keep the skins they bought and still see them. Nobody’s cosmetics are removed; your own screen just shows MW4 looks instead of the cross-title mix Warzone has built up over years of crossovers.
Where it works: The blog labels the filter Warzone only. As it stands, it has not been announced for Modern Warfare 4’s own multiplayer, so do not expect the same toggle there unless Activision says otherwise.
What it is not: This is not a “smart” filter that judges how silly or realistic a skin looks. It is a simple rule: MW4 skins are shown and skins from other titles are hidden. That lines up with the “authentic” and “grounded” cosmetic approach Infinity Ward has promoted for MW4, but the filter itself does not rate individual cosmetics.
Timing: Modern Warfare 4 launches Friday, October 23, 2026, on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. The skin filter arrives with the game’s first season, and Activision has not yet named the Season 1 start date. For the full launch plan, see our earlier report: Modern Warfare 4 full game launches October 23.
Why it matters: Warzone players have complained for years about anime crossovers, neon operators, and celebrity skins clashing with a military shooter. A personal filter is a middle ground. Activision keeps selling crossover cosmetics, and players who want a grounded look get one on their own screen.
What we are not saying: no Season 1 date, no lobby-wide effect, no MW4 multiplayer version, and no content-based filtering.
