We Bare Bears Christmas Special One-Shot Due From Dynamite

Comics

Dynamite Entertainment is bringing Cartoon Network’s We Bare Bears to comic shops this holiday season. The publisher announced the We Bare Bears Christmas Special, a one-shot due in December 2026, as reported by Comics Beat.

Creative team: Paulina Ganucheau writes the issue, with art from Ciro Cangialosi, Carlo Lauro, and Stefano Porcu. Ganucheau also draws the main cover, and variant covers include designs styled like wrapping paper and greeting cards. That mix of one writer and three artists gives each brother his own visual beat without breaking the show’s tone.

What’s inside: The one-shot collects three new holiday stories starring the brothers Grizz, Panda, and Ice Bear. Each artist handles a story, which gives the book an anthology feel while keeping the show’s gentle, offbeat humor. Expect cozy San Francisco-adjacent holiday chaos rather than a dark reboot.

Comics Beat frames it as the first comic book for the series. We Bare Bears ran on Cartoon Network from 2015 to 2019 and built a loyal following among kids and adults alike, later adding a movie and the spinoff We Baby Bears. A holiday one-shot is a natural fit for an all-ages property: an easy gift and an easy pick-up for families visiting a local comic shop in December.

Release date: Dynamite says the book is out in December. It has not named an exact on-sale Wednesday or a cover price yet, so check your shop’s Final Order Cutoff lists as the month gets closer. US readers should treat the street day as TBD until the December solicitations lock.

The announcement is part of a busy stretch of licensed books at Dynamite. Comics Beat notes the publisher’s ThunderCats relaunch arrives on November 4, which is color for Dynamite’s licensed slate only. Dynamite has also been leaning on animated classics lately; see our report on Disney’s Robin Hood #1 from Dynamite.

What we are not saying: we are not reporting a specific December street date, a price, or an ongoing We Bare Bears series. This is announced as a single holiday issue for kids and all-ages readers.
