Beat Games is calling its next Beat Saber drop the biggest update the game has ever had. Announced at Meta Connect and detailed by UploadVR, the package arrives in Spring 2027 for Meta VR Glasses and Quest, headlined by a new hand-tracking mode called Flux.

Flux mode: hands as weapons

Flux drops the titular sabers for a mode that treats your hands as weapons. Techniques include the Flux Tether, which channels power between your hands to slice notes on-beat, plus separate hand punches that build Jolt energy for a score-boost burst when you squeeze your fists while slicing. Flux launches with 35 songs curated from Beat Saber’s OST and Anniversary packs — UploadVR names tracks associated with Lindsey Stirling, Teminite, Camellia, Boom Kitty, plus in-house work from Jaroslav Beck and Zakka G — with more Flux songs planned after launch. Flux is built primarily for hand tracking but keeps Touch controller support for players who want it.

Campaign, UI, first rewards system

The update also refreshes Beat Saber’s single-player campaign with a light narrative layer, new barriers and missions, and exclusive in-game rewards, alongside a UI refresh and an improved first-time-player path. For the first time, Beat Saber gains a full rewards / cosmetics / inventory system — new sabers and notes, profile badges and banners, and quick-swap loadouts.

Whole-game hand tracking

Beyond Flux itself, UploadVR says the entire game becomes playable with hand tracking — a practical move as Meta VR Glasses are framed as shipping without bundled controllers — while traditional controller support stays in place rather than being replaced. No subscription pricing for the update has been published.
