Rumor: Deadline (Nellie Andreeva, September 29, 2026) reports exclusively that Prime Video is closing in on an order for a new series in Sony Pictures’ Universe of Marvel Characters, drawn from Marvel Comics’ Clone Saga and focused on Spider-Man clones Ben Reilly and Kaine Parker. This is not a greenlight. Reps for Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television declined comment, and the claim remains a rumor until the studios confirm an order. Bleeding Cool carried the same Deadline exclusive.
Kelvin Yu (American Born Chinese) is writing the series, Deadline says. Amy Pascal, Phil Lord, and Christopher Miller — who oversee the Sony TV Marvel universe and executive produced Spider-Noir — are expected to executive produce alongside Yu. Like Spider-Noir, the project sits under the multi-title Amazon MGM Studios / Sony Pictures Television deal, with a planned linear debut on MGM+ followed by streaming on sibling Prime Video.
Deadline frames the show as the next Sony Universe TV series after Spider-Noir, which Prime Video canceled this month after one season. Nicolas Cage starred as Ben Reilly / Spider-Noir in that series; in the comics, Spider-Man Noir is Peter Parker, with the TV identity shifted for rights carveouts. At the time of that cancellation, Deadline reported Amazon and Sony TV were still developing multiple projects under the pact, with one nearing a series order — this Clone Saga pitch is that rumored next step, not a closed deal.
Details are scarce. In the comics, Ben Reilly is the more stable Spider-Man clone who becomes the Scarlet Spider; Kaine Parker is the flawed first clone. Deadline’s sources caution that while the comics are source material and inspiration, the screen adaptation may carry significant changes. Some accounts say Ben and Kaine would grapple with newly discovered clone identities (and other clones); others claim the series may alter or de-emphasize their clone origins and give them new identities. RCG is not picking a lore path beyond that sourced caution.

What we are not saying: we are not reporting a locked series order, cast, episode count, premiere window, or confirmed story bible. Deadline’s exclusive says Prime Video is closing in; Amazon MGM and Sony TV declined comment. Rumor status until an official order lands.
