Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. launched a playable demo of Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse on Thursday, October 1, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam, according to Konami’s first-party EU news post. The full game still streets Wednesday, October 15, 2026, and demo progress can carry into the day-one build when save data is retained on the same platform and account.
The exploration-based 2D action game is developed jointly by KONAMI, Evil Empire, and Motion Twin. Story framing: Paris in 1499, 23 years after Castlevania III, with Rose Belmont — daughter of Trevor Belmont — hunting monsters through burning streets and Dracula’s castle using the Vampire Killer whip and other tools. Pre-orders for physical and digital editions are live; Midnight Editions add alternate costumes, a Digital Sound & Art Gallery, and an in-game relic, with an Alucard-style costume for early purchase of any edition.
Demo caveats Konami lists: certain features and content may be restricted in the demo; the full version must be updated before transferring saves; demo and full game must share platform and account. Video posting guidelines are posted on the Belmont’s Curse site for creators who want to share footage.
For US multiplat players, October 1 is a no-cost taste of the new Belmont entry two weeks before launch — useful after Konami already locked the Oct. 15 street at Press Start. For that earlier dating beat on RCG, see Konami Press Start: Townfall, Belmont, New Games.
US players on PS5, Switch, Xbox Series, or Steam can treat the October 1 demo as a two-week runway into the Midnight Edition and standard preorder windows already live on Konami’s storefronts. Rose Belmont’s 1499 Paris setting and Vampire Killer toolkit are the public fantasy; tarot-style systems and Graham McTavish’s Dracula were teased earlier at Press Start and remain part of the marketed package rather than demo-only reveals. Creators sharing footage should follow Konami’s posted video guidelines so clips stay within the publisher’s rules before Oct. 15.
What we are not saying: we are not inventing a US-only SKU, changing the Oct. 15 full-game date, or claiming every Midnight Edition bonus is free to all demo players. Report demo live Oct. 1; full game Oct. 15 with documented carryover rules.
