Monster Hunter Rise has crossed 20 million copies sold. Capcom announced the milestone on the game’s official Japanese account on X, in a post that went up just after midnight ET on Tuesday, October 6, thanking hunters for their support and pointing new players to sales running now on digital storefronts.
That is a quick climb from Capcom’s last update. As Gematsu notes, Rise was reported at more than 19.3 million units in June, in Capcom’s sales figures as of June 30, 2026. Adding roughly 700,000 copies in a little over three months is a strong pace for a game that first launched on Switch in March 2021.
Rise has had a long tail because it kept spreading to new platforms. After its Switch debut, it came to PC, and later to PlayStation and Xbox. Today it is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC through Steam and the Microsoft Store. The Sunbreak expansion added a large chunk of endgame content and gave lapsed players a reason to return.
Capcom marked the moment with new commemorative artwork, and the current digital discounts make this a good time for anyone who skipped it to jump in before the next wave of Monster Hunter releases. If you are new, Rise is the more approachable entry point in the modern series, with quick hunts, the Wirebug for fast movement and recovery, and Palamute companions that make getting around the maps fast.
The series has a busy stretch ahead. The mobile spin-off Monster Hunter Outlanders launches worldwide on October 29 on iOS and Android, outside mainland China, and Capcom continues to build out Monster Hunter Wilds with its Ascendance expansion.
Capcom did not break out sales by platform in the announcement, and it did not say whether the total counts Sunbreak bundles separately. The company usually updates its platinum titles list with each quarterly earnings report, so the next official breakdown should come with its fall results.
