Marvel is adding a new collected-edition format for its biggest runs. At New York Comic Con‘s Retailer Day on Wednesday, the publisher announced Marvel Brick, a compendium line that ICv2 reports will launch in the second half of 2027.
Bleeding Cool’s Rich Johnston, who reported the reveal from the Javits Center, called it an official Marvel announcement and said it drew cheers from the retailers in the room. Johnston wrote that the line carries the tagline “Build Your House Of Ideas Brick By Brick,” and that the books appear to be about the size of Marvel’s Omnibus editions but in a paperback format closer to the old Essentials line, similar to DC Comics’ Compendium books.
The first four Bricks
ICv2 says the slide at Marvel’s retailer presentation showed four titles. Bleeding Cool lists them with full subtitles and the runs they draw from:
- Uncanny X-Men: All New, All Different: the X-Men issues that followed Len Wein and Dave Cockrum’s Giant-Size X-Men in 1975, running into the Chris Claremont and John Byrne era.
- Superior Spider-Man: Hero or Menace: Dan Slott’s 2013 run, in which Otto Octavius takes over Peter Parker’s body.
- Uncanny X-Force: The Apocalypse Solution: Rick Remender and Jerome Opeña’s run from 2011.
- The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl: Ryan North and Erica Henderson’s series from 2015 onward.
Neither ICv2 nor Bleeding Cool reported prices, page counts, exact issue lists, or individual release dates for the four books. For now, ICv2’s second-half-of-2027 window is the only timing given for the line.
Marvel Renown comes first
Brick was one of two new collection lines Marvel announced at Retailer Day. According to ICv2, Marvel Renown will gather classic stories that aren’t currently available in Marvel’s other collection lines, such as the Epic Collections, in formats that will vary from book to book. Its first three books are paperbacks: Punisher: Suicide Run on February 16, 2027, at $29.99; Daredevil: The Devil in Cell-Block D on February 23 at $17.99; and All-New Hawkeye on March 9 at $19.99.
The print news comes as Marvel also shakes up digital reading. Its subscription library is moving from Marvel Unlimited to a new WEBTOON-run Marvel Comics app that launches November 16.
