Usual June needs a little more time. Finji has moved its supernatural third-person action adventure from October 28 to January 20, 2027, Gematsu reports. The game is coming to PC through Steam.
Finji is best known as the publisher behind Tunic, Night in the Woods and Overland, and Usual June is billed on Steam as a brand-new third-person action adventure from the studio. The new trailer leads with the January date.
Ghosts, monsters and a city on the brink
The setup centers on a mystery that threatens to obliterate an entire city. You fight monsters, talk to ghosts and dig into what is going wrong, exploring secret labs, buried tunnels, haunted observatories, abandoned train stations and a beautiful but mysterious other world along the way.
In Finji’s words, Usual June is a game “where players can fight monsters, talk to ghosts, and most importantly get to the bottom of a mystery threatening to obliterate an entire city.” That mix of spooky small-town mystery and arena fights is what the new trailer sells hardest.
Combat is pitched as fast, fluid and expressive. Finji’s overview says you’ll dive into arenas where you can dash, dodge, parry and pull off super moves, so expect a game that leans hard on its combat as much as its story.
Usual June had been due at the end of this month, so the delay adds almost three months. It is currently listed only for PC, and Finji has not announced console versions.
Finji did not share a reason for the delay in the announcement. The move does pull Usual June out of a crowded late-October window and into a quieter stretch of early 2027, where a stylish indie action game has more room to get noticed.
Delays have been a running theme this fall. RCG recently covered Owlcat pushing its tactical RPG Shadow of the Road to March 10. For Usual June, the Steam page is open for wishlists now, ahead of the new January 20 launch.
