VIZ Media has revealed its Summer 2027 publishing lineup, and it is a mix of big-name collector editions, new manga series and one very unusual book from a video game legend. The publisher rolled out the announcements in a string of posts on X on October 16, capped by a long-awaited JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure release.
JoJolion goes deluxe
The headline is JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Part 8 – JoJolion. In its announcement, VIZ said Hirohiko Araki’s return to Morioh, set in the same alternate universe as Steel Ball Run, will arrive in a deluxe hardcover edition with color pages, starting with Vol. 1 in Summer 2027.

Hideo Kojima returns
Gamers will want to note The Gifted Gene: 70% of My Body is Made of Movies, a hardcover follow-up to Hideo Kojima’s The Creative Gene. VIZ says it explores the films, books, places and art that inspire the creator of Death Stranding and Metal Gear Solid.
New series
The slate also includes several new titles: Someone Hertz by Ei Yamano, a romance between two radio-show joke submitters; Under Doctor by Kyo Tanimoto, about an assassin turned traveling doctor; His Sweet Solace by Rose Takada; Diabo a Quatro by Mariana; Belladonna’s Lover by Ru1mm; Astray, about a cat owner stranded in a distant galaxy alongside an alien mercenary; and Bus for Two by Sakane Toyobayashi. Anime News Network has the full rundown.
It has been a busy convention season for manga publishers, with Yen Press also adding new titles in Yen Press Adds Fate/strange Fake and Kino’s Journey at NYCC. VIZ’s list leans hard on collectors, and JoJo fans in particular have been waiting a long time for this one.
