Go! Go! Loser Ranger! is taking another break. Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine announced in its 47th issue of the year, released Wednesday, October 21, that Negi Haruba’s manga is going on hiatus due to the creator’s health, according to Anime News Network. No return date has been announced.
The series’ official account confirmed the news on X. “We are very sorry, as the series has only just resumed, but Sentai Daishikkaku will be on hiatus again for a while,” the post said, apologizing to readers who have been looking forward to new chapters and promising an update once a return date is set.
A second break in months
The news comes only weeks after the manga came back. Go! Go! Loser Ranger! previously went on hiatus on July 8 and returned on September 24. The series entered its final arc on March 18 of this year, when it came back from an earlier month-long break.
Haruba, best known for The Quintessential Quintuplets, launched Go! Go! Loser Ranger! in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in February 2021. The series flips the classic tokusatsu setup. Thirteen years after a monster army invaded Earth, the heroic Divine Dragon Rangers actually crushed the invaders within a year, and the defeated monsters have been forced to keep sending out a monster a week to lose on camera. One low-ranking foot soldier decides he has had enough and sets out to destroy the heroes from the inside.
Kodansha USA Publishing releases the manga in English. It also inspired a television anime that premiered in April 2024, with a second season in April 2025, both streaming on Disney+ and on Hulu in North America.
Health first
Creator health breaks have become a familiar part of manga publishing, especially on weekly schedules, and fans online have largely responded with well wishes. Readers who follow manga digitally have had a rough month in general, with Japan’s Comic CMOA store staying offline after a member data leak. For now, Go! Go! Loser Ranger! fans will have to wait for word from the magazine on when the final arc continues.
