Odencat’s tear-powered JRPG is getting a PlayStation 5 date. Meg’s Monster launches on PS5 on March 1, 2027, the studio announced, Gematsu reports, years after its 2023 debut on Xbox One, Switch and PC.
Before that, Switch players get a Complete Edition on Nov. 19 that bundles the base game with the Lost Memories downloadable content. When the PS5 version ships in 2027, both the DLC and the bundle will be available day-and-date on Sony’s console. Mobile editions already arrived May 7, 2026.
The short story-driven RPG casts players as Roy, a hulking ogre with a comical 99,999 HP who must keep a lost girl named Meg from crying — because her tears can trigger an underworld apocalypse. Battles mix JRPG turns with mini-games built around pacifying Meg with toys while the party pushes toward her mother.
Odencat’s pitch stresses vibrant pixel monsters, optional befriending of defeated foes, and a tonal swing from cute road trip to heavier underworld mystery. The Complete Edition packaging is aimed at players who skipped Lost Memories the first time around.
Small Japanese indies keep finding 2027 console windows beside bigger experiments, including Harvestella producer Daisuke Taka’s Everbrink Early Access plans. Meg’s Monster is the opposite of a systems thesis — a short, twisty JRPG that sells on character and tone.
March 1, 2027 is the PS5 street date to circle. Nov. 19 is the nearer Switch Complete Edition checkpoint for anyone who wants the full Meg package before Sony’s version lands.
Porting a 2023 indie JRPG to PS5 in 2027 is not a blockbuster flex — it is a shelf-life extension for a game whose hook still markets cleanly in a screenshot. Roy’s absurd HP pool and Meg’s apocalypse tears remain the elevator pitch; Lost Memories arriving in the Complete Edition is the upsell for anyone who bounced off the base adventure the first time.
Odencat has not bundled a new remaster claim into the PS5 announcement. The sell is platform access and the Complete package, not a graphics overhaul press tour.
