IDW Publishing says a truck carrying a printer shipment of four comics originally due Wednesday, September 2, 2026 — New Comic Book Day — wrecked on the way to a Penguin Random House Publisher Services warehouse. The books were unsalvageable. The printer ran a priority reprint. The street date for those four titles moves one week, to Wednesday, September 9, 2026.
ICv2, citing the publisher, reported the wreck date as August 11, 2026, a Tuesday. The destination was a Maryland PRH warehouse. The truck left the highway in a forest. There were no injuries. IDW first posted about replacements on August 28, 2026, a Friday, saying the reprints would be in stores on 9/9. Friday, August 28 is the announcement date, not the wreck date. Do not treat a “Friday accident” line as August 11.
The four delayed books are: Event Horizon: Inferno #5, the series finale, 32 pages, $4.99; Sonic the Hedgehog x Godzilla #2, 32 pages, $4.99; Star Trek: 60th Anniversary Special, a 68-page $8.99 anthology one-shot, not a hardcover; and TMNT: Journeys #13, 36 pages, $4.99, by Peter Laird and Jim Lawson. That Journeys issue is not Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #13 and is not Gene Luen Yang’s ongoing. The Trek special is not the Deluxe hardcover, which is dated December 1. There is no fifth wreck-delayed title in this notice. Do not swap in Event Horizon: Dark Descent.

Retailers already juggling other September dates — including Image/Ghost Machine books with a September 7 final order cutoff — now have a one-week slip on this IDW quartet.
