Ubisoft Says No Other Assassin’s Creed Remakes Are in Development, Hexe News Waits Until 2027

Black Flag Resynced will be the only Assassin’s Creed remake for now. In its fall franchise update, Ubisoft said it does “currently have no other Assassin’s Creed remake actively in development,” according to Game Informer, though the company left the door open to revisiting older games later.

The update covered most of the series’ moving parts. Codename Hexe, the long-teased project fans have been waiting to see properly, is still progressing, but its next major update will not come until 2027. Invictus, the multiplayer project, is being reworked after player feedback, VGC reported.

There is also something to play soon. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla gets a New Game+ update on Nov. 5. Players will carry much of their progression into a fresh run, with an optional Power progression mode that scales enemies, new runes, a stash, new achievements and a Master Assassin outfit inspired by Naoe from Shadows. The update also adds Mithril upgrades and a Divine quality tier for gear.

Ubisoft also shared news from outside the games. The live-action Assassin’s Creed series for Netflix is nearing completion after filming in Rome, and composer Hannah Peel is writing its score. The franchise will mark its 20th anniversary in 2027, and Ubisoft confirmed that Eric Baptizat is returning as franchise game director.

The no-remakes line stands out because Black Flag Resynced was such a big swing for the series. Its final major update, which added New Game Plus and a Nightmare mode earlier this week, wrapped up the post-launch plan for that release, and fans had been asking which classic entry might be next. For now, Ubisoft’s answer is none of them.

With Hexe news held back until next year, Valhalla’s New Game+ and the Netflix series are the most concrete Assassin’s Creed items on the calendar, with the anniversary year likely to set the stage for Ubisoft’s next big reveal.
