Avengers: Doomsday World Series Preview Sends Doctor Doom Over Ebbets Field

ComicsAvengers: Doomsday World Series Preview Sends Doctor Doom Over Ebbets Field

Marvel Studios used the biggest stage in baseball to tease its biggest film of the year. An exclusive one-minute preview for Avengers: Doomsday aired during Game 1 of the 2026 World Series between the Rays and the Brewers on Fox on Oct. 23, Deadline and MLB.com report.

The preview is set at Ebbets Field on the Fantastic Four’s Earth, the world introduced in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards, better known as Mister Fantastic, steps up to throw the ceremonial first pitch, with Joseph Quinn’s Human Torch behind the plate as catcher, according to Deadline. MLB.com notes that Ben Grimm, the Thing, is on hand as well.

Several real ballplayers make cameos in the dugout: Bryce Harper, Freddie Freeman, Jacob Misiorowski, Junior Caminero and Randy Arozarena. The spot also finds time for a bit of comedy, as Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers leaves Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man confused about who exactly is Captain America these days, with Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson carrying the shield.

The lighthearted mood does not last. The preview closes with Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom arriving in the skies above the ballpark, prompting Harper to deliver the final line: “We gotta go. Like, now.”

Marvel and MLB both describe the spot as a preview rather than a full trailer, making it a short taste of what is coming ahead of the film’s holiday release. Avengers: Doomsday arrives in theaters on Dec. 18, 2026.
