Batman Day 2026 falls on Saturday, September 19, 2026. That same day, DC’s Batman of Two Worlds one-shot debuts globally at participating local comic shops for $2.99. It is an LCS exclusive for this event — not an Amazon, big-box, or DC Universe Infinite day-and-date release. Distributors often ship the book on Wednesday, September 16, but the consumer street date for Batman Day is Saturday, September 19. Final Order Cutoff was August 10, 2026, and has already passed.
DC’s September 2 Batman Day 2026 blog post is the primary first-party note. Nerdist’s first look is useful secondary coverage. The one-shot runs two parallel stories. The characters do not meet and this is not a crossover fight.
The mainline half is written by Matt Fraction with art by Javi Fernández, colors by Tomeu Morey, and letters by Clayton Cowles. The Absolute Universe half is written by Scott Snyder with art by Nick Derington, colors by Frank Martin, and letters by Tom Napolitano. Cover artists include Jorge Jiménez, Nick Dragotta, and Frank Martin. Jiménez draws the mainline Batman ongoing and contributes cover art here; he did not draw the one-shot interiors. Dragotta draws Absolute Batman ongoing and contributes cover art here; he did not draw the Absolute one-shot interiors — that interior art is Derington. Spell Derington correctly.
Retailers already juggling other September Image and indie dates — including Ghost Machine books covered in our Ghost Machine fall 2026 dates report — now have a Batman Day Saturday spotlight with a shop-only price point.
DC’s September 2 press also lists several Batman Day hardcover editions. Do not treat all of those hardcovers as September 19-only street dates; Penguin Random House listings put several on sale September 15. This post is about the one-shot and the event day, not a blanket HC street claim.
What this story is not claiming: Jiménez and Dragotta did not draw the one-shot interiors. The two stories do not meet. September 16 is distributor ship timing, not the consumer Batman Day street. The one-shot is not arriving on a different day from the September 19 event. All five hardcovers are not exclusively September 19. The artist is Nick Derington, not “Derrington.” The one-shot is not launching on DCUI or Amazon for this debut.
